It’s been a busy few months with spring Trade Shows and community events. I love this time of year to show off new creative design, talk about decorating techniques, give hugs to familiar faces and big smiles to new ones. The first event always starts out the same… with me as nervous as a scared little kid who has stage fright. LOL. The queasiness only lasts for a few moments as the passion and excitement for design sets in and I’m ready to steal the show.
A Night of Colour, Design & Inspiration
I’m very proud to announce Marsha Wheeler Design is in association with Newcastle Home Décor & Design, offering the full spectrum of Interior Design services. Our first announcement of offering Interior Design and Consultation services was during Benjamin Moore, Newcastle Home Décor & Design’s annual Ladies Night event where we spoke of Colour, Design & Inspiration. What was the hot topic everyone wanted to know about?? WALLPAPER! Take a peek at these fabulous wallpapers in various rooms through out homes.
The 2015 Benjamin Moore Colour Trends were all the rave at afternoon tea with the women of Port of Newcastle. We showcased 4 different looks using home décor from the store along with fun fabrics, window coverings, wallpaper and most dramatically, paint colour.
Learning new skills in styling and design, being inspired by new ideas is exciting, but being on the other end and teaching the community your specialty skill, is far beyond the best feeling. I was invited to share my skills at the How To in 10min Festival… more specifically, How To Style Your Bookcase Like A Designer. It was a fantastic event, held by the Bowmanville library, with many businesses teaching the community their industry skills and sharing their insider secrets.
As spring comes to an end and summer begins, local businesses look forward to showcasing their wares and services at the annual Home & Lifestyle Show. Towns folk flock to this event taking advantage of the Farmers Market held outside. Representing Newcastle Home Décor & Design, we had a great turn out, met many new people from surrounding towns and raffled off 20% off your choice of Design Package!
